烤鸭们对于雅思口语a paid job的话题，不知道为什么，很多孩子第一个想到的是“餐厅服务生”!不知道大家是受到了《老友记》里Rachael还是《生活大爆炸》里Penny的启发。其实在现实生活中，无论是勤工俭学，还是为了体验社会，在餐厅里打工，确实是很多孩子的第一选择。就像很多国外的大学生会在快餐店里工作是一个道理啦，大家肯定看过各种电视剧或者电影里有这样的情节。
那么咱们说回雅思口语答案。关于打工的原因可以多种多样，最烂俗的一个应该算是看上某个东西想买，但是又不好意思张口管父母要，于是决定自食其力打工赚钱。或者不是自己想买，而是想买给别人，都可以呀。下面的雅思口语话题范文抛砖引玉，相信大家会有更好的答案：
I’d like to talk about the time when I did a part-time job as a waitress in a barbecue restaurant, and this is how it happened. A few months ago, I had my eye on a pair of high-heels; you know how girls can be when it comes to high heels, right? They would do anything to get it. But I just didn’t want to ask my parents for it because I don’t think they’d say yes. They are always telling me I already have more than enough shoes to wear. Anyway, I decided to get the money on my own. And coincidentally, there happened to be a newly opened barbecue restaurant looking for hire, and they accept part-time workers. So I decided to give it a shot. The owner thought I seemed to be quite reliable and hardworking, so I just got hired.
I chose to cover the night shift, ‘cause they got the most guests during dinner rush and the payment is higher per hour, which is a quicker way to get the amount of money I needed for the high heels. Plus, it was summer vacation, so it was perfectly for me OK to work late.
However, the job turned out to be much more challenging than I thought it would be. Every day, it was just overwhelming. Waiting tables is more than just taking guests’ order and serving food. There’s more to it than that. Sometimes the guests can be really demanding and hard to please. And you know people who eat in a barbecue restaurant tend to get drunk and behave extremely badly, and sometimes they would throw up. And we just had to take care of it.
I worked in that restaurant for a month and got my payment for the first time in my life, which I’m pretty proud about. And that experience helped me realize how hard it is to make money.
