　　London, 8th March 2017: QS Quacquarelli Symonds have today released the seventh edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject. The research enumerates the world’s best universities for the study of 46 different subjects – the A to Z of university performance evaluation.

　　2017年3月8日世界高等教育研究机构 QS 发布了第七版 QS 世界大学专业排名。该项研究旨在评估在共46个不同学科中的世界最好大学，全面涵盖大学的各种专业的表现。

　　Chinese higher education continues to advance, and is gaining ground on the USA. This is one of the main findings from this year’s rankings. Tsinghua University is China’s outstanding performer. It is ranked in the top 10 for four different subjects, and ranks 5th worldwide for Engineering - Civil & Structural. In total, Chinese institutions feature in the top 10 six times – once more than last year. China also takes a larger share of overall places, while the USA takes a smaller share.

　　Tsinghua’s nation-leading performance is not a static one, but an upwardly-mobile one. All four of its top-ten ranks represent an improvement on the previous year’s rank in that subject. It improves its position for 17 of the 32 subjects in which it was ranked last year, and also newly-places for Psychology. Key points include:

　　清华大学的全国领先并不是静态的，而是一个持续进步的过程。四个进入世界全十的学科较去年都有了长足进步。该所大学去年上榜的32个学科中，有17专业榜单位置都有所上升; 而它的心理学也首次上榜。

　　Peking University ranks 7th for Modern Languages, rising one place; it also remains 10th for Linguistics;

　　此外，北京大学在语言学上也保持在世界前十的位置，今年在语言学榜单中排名第七，较去年上升一位;

　　This year, Chinese institutions feature in the top 20 of the 46 subject tables 21 times. In last year’s edition, they featured in the top 20 of the 42 subject tables 15 times – a proportional increase in representation;

　　今年，在所有46个学科中，中国的大学共有21次进入前20名。在去年的榜单中，在所有获评的42个专业中，中国大学进入前20名共15次，取得了成比例的增长。

　　The Institute For Tourism Studies ranks 18th in QS’s first-ever Hospitality & Leisure Management ranking;

　　澳门旅游学院在 QS 今年首次纳入的酒店与休闲管理学科中名列第18位;

　　China Agricultural University enters the top 20 for Agriculture and Forestry, ranking 20th;

　　中国农业大学在农林学名列第20位，首次进入世界前20;

　　Tongji University enters the top 20 for Agriculture & Built Environment (20th);

　　同济大学在农业和建筑环境学科中进入世界前20;

　　Overall, China increases its share of places across the 46 tables from 4.43% in 2016 to 4.90% in 2017. The US sees its share of places decrease from 23.1% to 22.13%.

　　总体来看，中国的大学在所有的46份榜单中的占比从2016的4.43%进步到2016年的4.9%。美国则从占比23.1%下降到22.13%;

　　QS have also released their QS World University Rankings by Faculty. The rankings by Faculty assess university performance across five broad groups of subjects: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management. China’s best rank in the Faculty tables is Tsinghua University’s 10th-place rank in the Engineering & Technology faculty area.

　　QS 还同时发布了其“QS 世界大学专业排名”。该学科排名旨在评估各高校在五个专业大类的表现：艺术人文类、工程技术类、生命科学和医药类、自然科学类、社会和管理科学类。中国在该份排名中的表现最突出的是清华大学，其在工程技术类中名列全球第十。
